"Just count them! I know you won't!"

"Just count them! I know you won't!" -Eddie Izzard

This is going to be a long one so bare/bear with me. (I didn't know which one of those is the appropriate one for the phrase. I figure that both work. You are either taking on a bear together, which is hella-scary, or taking off your clothes together, which is also scary if I am one of the bared people.)

Day 6!!! Mande and I were both feeling wretched yesterday so we skipped it. We figured five days in a row of an unfamiliar exercise warranted us an honest sick day. Then our friend Katie, who is doing the 30 Day Shred in Florida at the same time as us here in New Mexico, inspired me to do Day 6 today, even though Mande is sadly out tonight.

Day 6 went well!!! Katie is right. It is better! I still struggle with those damn "jump-rope" imitations. They make my calves cramp and my legs go all numb-like. So when I repeat the jumping-jacks, which are usually easy, the second time through I CAN'T do them! I have to rest for a few seconds. But then I'm fine when it goes back into the imitation "jump-rope". I HAVE improved on this. I just give myself a 5 second break between each to catch my bearings and this time I got through them without dying.

Other than that, the rest is going great!!! Even those ridiculously hard shoulder raises w/ simultaneous side lunges. I am still on three pound weights for those, but they now feel GOOD!!! That old rotator-cuff injury symptoms will soon be gone forever.

I have moved up weights in all the other exercises. I do 8lbs on most of them now. Although, I could do 10lbs on a few if I owned 10lbs weights. I figure it is more cardio anyways, so I'm fine.

And I can almost kick my own ass in the butt-kicks. I'm as close as I can possibly get with my thighs and calves the size they are at least!!!

But here is the best part... ready ladies and gentlemen?...

I did THREE real push-ups today in the first set. And another ONE at the start of the second set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THREE!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so pleased with myself. They looked stupid like I haven't been able to really do real push-ups for ten years, which is true. But they were correct form and they were good! I guess I could have went a little lower, but it is a milestone!

YAY ME !!!!!

But to end my rather joyous Day 6 post I have some bitter news. I mean that the upchuck immediately following the workout tasted bitter because I'd eaten raspberries and sharp cheddar cheese earlier. I know, that is gross. But I worked out so hard that I vomited.

Although, it was probably a combination of not letting my dinner properly digest, chugging a bunch of water right after the exercise, strange two-day-thunderstorm humidity mixed with New Mexican summer heat, and my kick ass determination on Day 6. It doesn't matter.

I feel better after the purge. Now I need to go brush my teeth. EWE!!!!
